Scotland Yard Tournament on Deck for HP

Top high school baseball programs from across the state will come to the Park Cities this week as part of the annual Scotland Yard Classic tournament.

The Scots (4-3) will host five games over three days as part of the round-robin format. They will play Waxahachie (11 a.m. Thursday), Odessa Permian (4 p.m. Thursday), Red Oak (11 a.m. Friday), Keller (4 p.m. Friday), and Little Elm (10 a.m. Saturday).

The tournament does not mark the customary home opener for HP, since the team hosted five games as part of the Five Tool High School Festival event last weekend.

The Scots were an impressive 3-2 while facing elite competition. They lost to Dripping Springs and Magnolia Heights (Miss.) before battling back to defeat Maryknoll (Hawaii), El Paso Americas, and Wolfforth Frenship.

The upcoming tournament will provide the final tuneup for HP prior to the District 12-5A opener on March 12 against Carrollton R.L. Turner.
