Lady Scots Roll Past Wranglers in Opener
Highland Park started its season in style, rolling past West Mesquite 11-1 in six innings in a nondistrict softball opener on Monday.
The Lady Scots (1-0) rallied from an early deficit with 11 unanswered runs, including five each in the fourth and sixth innings, which ended the game due to the mercy rule.
Next up, HP will compete in a tournament in Arlington this weekend, beginning with matchups against Venus and Lake Highlands on Friday. The Lady Scots will face Mansfield Summit on Saturday before returning home on Feb. 18 against Royse City.
