Lady Scots to Face Emerson in Playoffs
Highland Park had its 12-game winning streak snapped by Frisco Reedy in the girls basketball regular-season finale on Tuesday.
However, the game didn’t have any impact on Class 5A Division I postseason seeding for the Lady Scots (21-12), who had already clinched the runner-up spot in District 12-5A.
HP will open the playoffs against Frisco Emerson (17-16), the third-place team from 11-5A, in the bi-district round on Monday in Allen.
Prior to the 42-32 loss to Reedy, the Lady Scots had one of their best offensive performances of the season during a 63-39 victory over Carrollton Newman Smith in their home finale. Kate Danner had 17 points to pace nine HP players on the scoresheet.
Since December, the Lady Scots have been especially strong on defense, holding 13 consecutive opponents to 42 points or fewer.
