Lady Scots Earn Draw Against Wakeland
Highland Park remained unbeaten in District 12-5A girls soccer action after a hard-fought 3-3 draw against defending Class 5A state champion Frisco Wakeland on Friday.
Adeline Jacobs, Maggie Deskin, and Addie Brink put the ball in the net for the Lady Scots (8-2-1, 3-0-1), who have scored at least three times in each of their last six games.
In the previous contest, the Lady Scots set a new offensive mark for their season during a 6-0 thrashing of Carrollton R.L. Turner. They did surrender a season-high three goals to undefeated Wakeland, however.
The two perennial powerhouses, who have a lengthy postseason history and are likely to battle for the district title this year, will meet a second time on Feb. 28 at Highlander Stadium.
