WTW Hoops Coach Reaches Career Milestone
W.T. White boys basketball coach Patrick Washington earned his 500th career win on Friday when the Longhorns cruised to a 63-10 win over Thomas Jefferson.
Washington has amassed almost 100 victories since moving to WTW from Woodrow Wilson in 2020 and has led the Longhorns to four consecutive playoff appearances.
WTW is on the cusp of another postseason appearance this year. Ardon West led the way with 21 points in Washington’s milestone triumph.
The Longhorns (18-7, 6-1) bounced back after a double-overtime loss at South Oak Cliff that snapped their five-game winning streak and dropped WTW into second place in the league standings. The rematch comes on Feb. 11 in the regular-season finale.
