Herrema Promoted to AD at Jesuit Dallas

Kyle Herrema, former boys basketball coach at Lovejoy, has been named the new athletic director at Jesuit Dallas.

Herrema takes over for Steve Koch, who held the post for three decades before retiring last June. In August, Herrema was hired as an associate athletic director while the school conducted a search for Koch’s replacement.

He inherits a role known for its stability. Before Koch’s tenure, Gary Pasqua was Jesuit’s top athletics administrator for 23 years. Herrema will become just the seventh AD since the school created the post in 1953.

The Alabama native amassed more than 300 wins during 18 basketball seasons at Lovejoy — including seven district titles — while also serving as an assistant athletic director.

Moving full-time into administration, Herrema will oversee personnel management, operations, and budgeting for 22 high school varsity programs, 48 teams, and more than 800 athletes for the Rangers.
