The Highland Park ISD community is rallying around a high school cheerleader hospitalized after an afternoon crash on Walnut Hill Lane.
Two other cheerleaders were also in the vehicle on Oct. 1.
“We are extremely grateful for the physical health of two of our girls, but we need many prayers for Grace Scheipe,” HP Cheer announced on Instagram.
Official updates are not readily available, but students have been hearing her condition is improving though still concerning.
Students, parents, faculty, and others gathered on Oct. 4 to pray for her at Highlander Stadium.
“The Highland Park community is strong, as is Grace, and we believe she can conquer this,” HP Cheer posted.
Highland Park ISD superintendent Dr. Tom Trigg informed school board members on Oct. 3 that five students were involved in the wreck — four of whom were released that same night.
Dallas police confirmed that officers responded to multi-vehicle wreck shortly before 2 p.m. Oct. 1 at Meadowbrook Drive and Walnut Hill Lane
Multiple people were taken to a hospital, police said without providing an exact number or ages nor confirming whether occupants of the vehicles attended any particular school.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.
