Lindsey Hosch will lead Highland Park’s contingent of swimmers at the upcoming Class 5A state meet in San Antonio.
The girls meet, which originally was set for Feb. 19-20, was postponed until March 1-2. The boys meet is still slated for its original dates of Feb. 26-27.
Hosch is the meet’s top qualifier in the 100 breaststroke after winning the Region III title on Feb. 6 in The Colony with a time of 1 minute, 1.55 seconds, which set a new school record. She also will compete at state in the 100 butterfly.
Also advancing to state for the HP girls are Maddy Helton (100 freestyle and 100 backstroke) and Katherine Huang (50 freestyle). After claiming a girls team crown at the regional meet, the Blue Wave also will participate in all three girls relays at state.
On the boys side, Dash Wolford will head to state in diving for the third consecutive year after winning a regional title.
