Crime Reports Feb. 5-11


After being confronted by employees at a CVS in the 3000 block of Mockingbird Lane about possibly concealing $120 worth of Maybelline foundation in his jacket, a 48-year-old Dallas man fled the store around 11:12 p.m. Feb. 11 through the rear entrance. He was located by police behind the Moody Coliseum – sans the foundation – but was arrested on an outstanding warrant.


6 Tuesday

When a woman called out for her dog Daisy, who was barking for an unknown reason around 6 p.m. while at their home in the 5400 block of Oxford Drive, a male intruder echoed back, “Daisy.” The man had gained access to the home by smashing a glass window pane on a back door. The burglar fled the property. Nothing was reported stolen, but an iron in the upstairs laundry room was reported to be out of place.

7 Wednesday

Sometime between 4:30 p.m. Feb. 5 and 7:30 a.m. Feb. 7 two sump pumps, valued at $250 each, were stolen from a construction site in the 4400 block of Highland Drive. The owner reported the theft around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.


5 Monday

Stolen: A lawn mower, valued at $1,300, from a landscaper working at a home between 3:30 and 4 p.m. in the 6300 block of Douglas Avenue.

8 Thursday

About $12,000 in goods, ranging from rifles to power tools, were stolen from a home in the 6900 block of Vassar Drive that was burglarized sometime between noon Feb. 3 and 8:20 p.m. Feb. 8.

10 Saturday

Just after midnight, an 80-year-old University Park woman reported to police that sometime between Feb. 6 and 10 her 2008 blue Hyundai Santa Fe was stolen from her home in the 3400 block of Potomac Avenue.

A 54-year-old University Park man was sprayed with pepper spray and robbed around 11:45 p.m. near the SMU campus in the 6400 block of Hillcrest Avenue.
