Skulduggery of the week: He Wears Many Hats
At 11:31 a.m. on Jan. 14, a shoplifter stole an $860 men’s hat from the Hermes store at Highland Park Village. The man switched his Stetson wool hat with the Hermes hat, which looked similar, on a rack and walked out of the store. However, before leaving, he bought a belt for $898 with a credit card and filled out a customer information card with his contact information.
At 1:08 p.m., an employee of Christian Louboutin at Highland Park Village reported the theft of a $795 Pigalle clutch between Dec. 20 and Jan. 2. Someone returned the clutch to the store on Dec. 20, and an employee noticed it was missing on Jan. 2 and assumed it had been sold. It wasn’t until taking inventory several days later that employees noticed the theft.
At 8:15 p.m., a thief stole a Louis Vuitton wallet containing a Peruvian driver’s license and $40 in cash from a cart at Whole Foods Market in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive. A shopper inadvertently left the wallet in the cart when taking groceries to the car, and upon returning, couldn’t find it.
At 11:45 p.m., police stopped a white 2005 Toyota pickup with stolen license plates in the 4400 block of Lovers Lane, then found marijuana and methamphetamines inside. Daniel Armand Hudson, 26, of Dallas was arrested on a theft charge. Cassandra Fay Terrazas, 33, of Euless was arrested on a drug possession charge.
Between 6 p.m. on Jan. 13 and 10 a.m. on Jan. 14, a thief stole a credit card, a debit card, and a driver’s license from a purse at La Madeleine in Park Cities Plaza.
At 12:26 p.m., a resident of the 3200 block of Rosedale Avenuereported the theft of a $500 Hitachi television and a $200 Xbox console from an unlocked house sometime between Jan. 2 and Jan. 7.
Between noon and 8:14 p.m., a burglar broke into a red 2001 Chevrolet pickup in the 4000 block of Wentwood Drive and stole a $50 men’s jacket.
At 4:09 p.m., a shoplifter stole a Norelco cordless shaver, valued at $54, from the CVS store at Park Cities Plaza. John Wayne Armstrong Jr., 30, of Dallas was arrested on charges of theft and evading arrest.
Between 9 and 10:07 a.m., a burglar broke into a black 2010 GMC Yukon in the 7800 block of Pickwick Lane and stole a $4,000 VBH purse containing $5,000 in cash.
At 11:35 p.m., Dustin Lee Holcomb, 34, of Dallas was arrested in the 4400 block of Potomac Avenue on a public intoxication charge.
