Molly Joyce Shute and Kyle Lyndon Weston Powell were united in holy matrimony June 15 at Highland Park United Methodist Church. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Matt Tuggle and the Rev. Jeb Honeyman, her former youth ministers. Nuptial music was provided by Dr. Bradley Welch, piano and organ; Kara Welch, flute; Daniel Rodrigues, guitar; and Diane Kitzman, violin. Scott Bryan was the soloist. Benjamin Pinto read the Scripture. A reception followed at the Park City Club. The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at Bugatti’s on the eve of the wedding.

Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted down the aisle by her father, the bride wore an eloquent dream gown with a very sentimental history. The gown had been worn by her mother, Brenda (Nov. 17, 1984), and also by her maternal aunt Linda (Sept. 14, 1985). Molly’s veil was part of her grandmother Betty Ewan’s wedding dress (June 19, 1954). The headpiece she wore was worn by her grandmother, mother, and aunt. Molly’s gown had a sweetheart neckline with off-the-shoulder cap sleeves adorned with Alencon lace over English netting. Tiny fabric-covered buttons complemented the back of the bodice that flowed into the full A-line skirt with cathedral-length train.
The bridal bouquet contained her maternal great-grandfather’s Aggie ring from Texas A&M University, Class of 1926. She also carried her paternal grandmother Betty Jo Shute’s Bible, which was in her wedding bouquet (July 17, 1955). Wrapped around the bouquet was lace from her grandmother Betty Ewan’s and mother’s wedding gowns.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Laura Frances Shute. Bridesmaids included Kirsten Hazelrigg, Reagan Sinclair, Melanie Powell, Beth Pinto Price, Jennifer Powell, Jenna Ponsford Scott, Katelyn Powell, Jen Lewis, and Lauren Kerner LeCates. Members of the house party were Katie Willis, Cathryn Turano, Grace Guthrie, and Michelle Ackels Roudebush.
Serving the groom as best man was his brother, Brett Powell. Groomsmen included Graham Ebner, James Bohn, Kevin Vandamme, Conner Price, Patrick Ede, Dave Scott, Austin Curtis, Cole Kembel, and Evan Trenor. Ushers were Drew Alders, Prio Ball, Josh Drillette, and Scott Roudebush. Paxton LeCates was the ring bearer.
