We here at People Watching were busy bees while preparing for this week’s issue. Here’s a preview of the events covered in this week’s column:
Dallas Symphony Debutantes Have a Mardi Pardi
There were lots of sequins at this glitzy event, as well as quite a few Mardi Gras beads. New Orleans native and presentation ball chair Dixey Arterburn told me she thought Eddie Deen’s hurricane drinks were better than the original, which I’m pretty sure is blasphemy.
A Fantastic Fourth
For those of you who missed the parade (or just want to relive the glory of it all), we’ve got a special section on it in this week’s paper. There was a little bit of everything at this year’s parade, including cute pets, crazy decorations, and the People Newspapers crew on our float tossing out Frisbees.
Burgers with the Branch Family
State Rep. Dan Branch brought together friends on his front lawn for a stylish front lawn picnic.
