Between 6:30 p.m. on April 8 and 8 a.m. on April 9, a thief stole 45 bundles of shingles with a combined value of $1,470, 25 sheets of plywood sheathing with a combined value of $525, and 10 sheets of roof decking with a combined value of $120 from a house under construction in the 5400 block of Del Roy Drive.
At around 4 p.m. on April 9, two adults and a juvenile entered Urban Outfitters in NorthPark Center. A witness watched while one of the adults hid two belts with a combined value of $48 in a shopping bag before the trio headed to Gap. Once inside, the adults distracted an employee while the youth hid three pairs of shorts with a combined value of $83.85 inside a bag. When officers detained the shoplifters, they discovered aluminum foil lining the shopping bags to prevent the store’s alarms from being activated. Mianesha Barnes, 42, was arrested on a theft charge.
At 2:40 a.m. on April 10, a man watched a vandal break the $30 antenna off his gray 2002 Chevy SUV in the 7700 block of Inwood Road. The vandal then tried to use the broken antenna to help a bystander who was locked out of his car.

Between 8 and 9:30 a.m. on April 10, a burglar broke into an apartment in the 3900 block of West Northwest Highway and stole $150 in change, a $50 pair of womens pants, and an $8 pack of mens underwear.
Between 6:30 and 10 a.m. on April 10, a burglar broke into an apartment in the 3900 block of West Northwest Highway and stole $4,500 worth of jewelry, three laptops with a combined value of $1,500, a $900 LG TV, a $750 Lincoln Electric welding torch, and a $40 DVD player.
Between 12:45 and 1 p.m. on April 10, a thief removed a $1,500 gray Louis Vuitton wallet containing $40 cash, a driver’s license, and various insurance and credit cards from the purse of a woman dining at La Madeleine in Preston Center. The cards were used at a Target and 7-Eleven before they were canceled.
On April 10, a man picked up a prescription for $94.37 worth of D-Amphetamine, Xanax, and Trazodone tablets from Walgreens in the 6700 block of West Northwest Highway, but he left without paying for the pills. When employees tried to reach him by phone, he hung up on the callers multiple times.
At 12:45 p.m. on April 11, an employee of Macy’s at NorthPark Center watched on camera while two shoplifters carried sixteen shirts with a combined value of $1,141.50, six pairs of pants with a combined value of $468, two vests with a combined value of $159, a $120 dress, two sweaters with a combined value of $99.98, two undergarments with a combined value of $71.50, and a $60 belt out of the store. The pair then exited the mall, but when they realized they were being followed, they dropped the items and raced towards a getaway car. One of the shoplifters escaped, but she dropped her purse containing two photo IDs in the parking lot. Alexys Josephine Epps, 22, was arrested on a theft charge.
At 4:45 p.m. on April 11, police were called to Whole Foods Market in Preston Forest Shopping Center, where a shoplifter was detained for trying to steal two silk scarves with a combined value of $103.98, nine gift-wrapping items with a combined value of $50.55, four hair accessories with a combined value of $33.99, two rings with a combined value of $19.98, a $16 tank top, a $14.99 pair of earrings, two bars of soap with a combined value of $11.98, and a $1.79 reusable bag. Viki Diane Ezell, 46, was arrested on a theft charge.
Between 7 and 7:40 p.m. on April 12, a thief removed a $40 wallet containing $65 cash, a driver’s license, and various credit and debit cards from the purse of a woman dining at The Plaza at Preston Center. The thief charged $368 to one of the cards before it was canceled.
Between 1 and 7 a.m. on April 14, a vandal defaced a door and a large trash can at Inwood Village, causing $400 worth of damage.
