Katherine Claire Schmid and Benjamin Price Coffee were united in marriage May 12, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth, Texas. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Michael Waschevski. A reception followed at the Stonegate Mansion where guests danced to the music of the Bulletproof BrassBand.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Arthur Schmid Jr. of Fort Worth. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James G. Chastain of Jackson, Miss. and the late Mary Jocelyn Wiemers Chastain, and Mr. and Mrs. William A. Schmid Sr., of Clinton, Miss. and the late Pauline Brandon Schmid.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Weldon Coffee Jr., formerly ofUniversity Park, now living at Cedar Creek Lake. He is the grandson of Mrs. Wynelle Watson White and the late Russell Weldon Coffee Sr. of Austin, Texas, and late Helen Jones Koons, the late Judge John Price Koons of University Park, and his wife Susan Andrews Koons.
The bride was presented in marriage by her parents and escorted down the aisle by her father. She wore an ivory, re-embroidered lace sheath gown by Monique Lhuillier with jewel neckline and a modified trumpet skirt. Her veil was ivory, pencil-edged illusion and extended beyond the train of her gown. This same gown and veil was worn by her sister for her wedding in October 2010. The bride also carried a hand-tied bouquet of white peonies.
Matron of honor was Mary Jocelyn Schmid Mergler, the bride’s sister. Bridesmaids included Helen Wynelle Coffee, the groom’s sister; Rebecca Murphy Schmid, the bride’s sister-in-law; Megan Elizabeth Cox; Jayne Ann Wolsey Deaton; and Jaime Michelle Hopkins. House party members included Megan Kathleen Culver, Erin Anna Petta, Mary Martha Slaughter, and Heather Ann Stephens.
Best men were the groom’s brothers Luke Russell Coffee and Nathan Watson Coffee. Groomsmen included Andrew Chastain Schmid, the bride’s brother; David Case Dunlap; Joseph Marshall Estes; Brady Colvert Evans; Robert Matthew Innamorati; Blake Sundberg Smith; and James Patrick Wiggins Jr.
Katie is a graduate of Trinity Valley School in Fort Worth. She received a Bachelor of Science in public relations from The University of Texas where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She is employed by the law firm of Thompson & Knight in client services.
Ben is a graduate of Highland Park High School and Texas Tech University. He is a petroleum landman and pursuing a Master of Sciences in entrepreneurship at the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
The couple resides in Kessler Park in Dallas.
