SMU Students: Keep Better Track of Your Things

Last month we had the coyote pelt. This month is just carelessness. Get it together, SMU, or just keep an eye on your stuff.

March 1 2:31 PM.    Theft:    Phi Delta Theta House/3072 SMU Blvd.    A student reported theft of his bicycle. He called back to report a friend had borrowed the bicycle.    Closed.

March 3 7:30 PM.    Burglary of Vehicle:    Moody Coliseum.    A student reported the theft of her iPad from her car, she later called and said she found her iPad.    Closed.

March 16 2:01 PM.    Theft:    Underwood Law Library/6550 Hillcrest Avenue.    A student reported theft of his backpack containing a Laptop computer.  The student later reported he found his backpack and computer.    Closed

March 18 12:07 PM.    Burglary Of Vehicle:    South Quad Lot/6000 Ownby Drive.    A student reported some unknown person entered her vehicle and took cash out of her purse.  She later reported the money was found.    Closed.

    These all sound like when my grandmother kept accusing her neighbor of coming in the house and stealing her ice.

    In the end, it was Alzheimers. Maybe some early testing of SMU students might help.

    Best Comments Ever

    I had a cousin who always seemed to have things stolen. Instead of learning the lesson of caring for his belongings, he was always furnished with newer and better things. Perhaps their mommies and daddies have caught onto the gig & said no new bike/IPad/laptop/cash if you can’t keep up with the first. Surprise! Items found!
