The Search is on … For Mrs. Highland Park 2009

For Immediate Release:  If you are married and between the ages of 21 and 56, applications are now being accepted for the title of 2009 “Mrs. Highland Park”! Mrs. Highland Park will have the honor of representing her city at the Mrs. Texas International Pageant to be held at the Scottish Rite Auditorium in San Antonio, Texas, March 20 – 22, 2009.

The woman selected as “Mrs. Highland Park” will become an ambassador from the —- Dallas Park Cities —- area and receive an official title and sash!

The woman crowned Mrs. Texas will receive a prize package valued at over $15,000 and the opportunity to represent Texas at the 2009 Mrs. International Pageant in Chicago.

The American Heart Association is the official charity of the Mrs. Texas International Pageant.  In 2008, the International Pageants joined the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement and each state titleholder will champion heart disease as a national platform in addition to promoting their own platform throughout the year.

Go Red for Women captures the energy, passion, and intelligence of women, to work collectively to wipe out heart disease – the No. 1 killer of women.  Think about yourself and the women you care for – your mother, grandmother, sisters, daughters, aunts, friends, and co-workers.  Now think about this fact:  While 1-in-30 American women die of breast cancer, almost 1-in-3 will die from cardiovascular disease.  Our passion is to unite women in this fight.  Our involvement in the movement can help save lives.  For more information go to www.GoRedForWomen.org.

The current reigning “2009” Mrs. Texas is Alexandra Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas.  As Mrs. Texas, Alexandra has dedicated her reign to the awareness and prevention of “Narco-Terroism” and is a national spokesperson for the NIDA (National Institute on Drug Abuse).  As a former intelligence officer for HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) and crime scene technician, Alexandra has seen first-hand the devastating effects of drug and alcohol abuse first hand.  For more information, please visit www.nida.nih.gov.

Mrs. contestants will compete in Personal Interview, Fitness Wear, and Evening Gown.  (There is no talent or swimsuit competition and no experience necessary!!!)
