Sarah Palin Was All That Today

I attended the political spectacle that was the Sarah Palin luncheon today and it was a hugely successful event (congrats, Alison!).  A standing room only-crowd packed the Regency Ballroom of the Fairmont to hear Sarah Palin deliver her spot-on campaign messaging.  If you watched the debate last night, you already know pretty much what was said.  What’s more fun was the people watching . . .

Governor Palin was about 45 minutes late getting to the VIP reception and photo op so many of Dallas’ and the PC’s most hi-fallutin were, patiently, for the most part, waiting for her to show.  Truth be told, it was kind of a drag to wait in a hot, cramped reception room but once the lady of the day arrived, all was forgotten.  She had her husband with her as well as her three youngest children.  That little Piper is darling and so poised.  She stood in the photo line waving and smiling like an old pro.  Little Trig was there getting passed around with a lot of women ooh-ing and ahh-ing over him until the Secret Service dudes decided it was time to stop passing the baby around.  Sarah Palin’s parents were chatting it up with Roger Staubach. When they realized who he is, they had someone take a photo of them flanking Roger, who’s about a foot taller than either of them. They were starstruck.

Several members of Park Cities’ Boy Scout Troop 82 led the group on the Pledge of Allegiance. Tom Hicks presented Palin with a number 2 Stars jersey with her name on the back — that went over big with the crowd.  Governor Perry gave his typical rah-rah speech then Sarah Palin took the stage. The room was filled with lots of oil and gas folks and they were happy to hear what she had to say.

The crowd was enthusiastic, celebratory and very fired up when they left the ballroom.  There were no protesters close enough or loud enough to make anyone think twice about them.

Oh, and in case you haven’t seen the photos yet, she wore her hair down.  She looked fab as always.

I just love babies having babies. Did she give any shout outs and winks?

It was another opportunity to hear her mispronounce nuclear and Iraq. She’s George Bush in a skirt!

Being VP is the only way to guarantee Biden won’t be another Robert Byrd.

  • PalinBaby Question

Here are two thoughtful sites that are trying to collect and publish information on the (still open) question of the parentage of Trig Palin:

I don’t think the question of who parented Trig is “still open.” Uggghhhh…enough with that already. If you think that, you are refusing to see evidence that proves Sarah was indeed pregnant recently…there’s even footage of her in Dallas pregant as can be! Pray tell, what is wrong with you?

Desperate Housewife Bree wore a belly pad. Palin could have too. Could be where she got the idea. What are the chances slim Sarah didn’t show at all until a month before the baby was born? Nevertheless, even if so, not hypocritical, not relevant. Just a little diversion for some from the economic meltdown and the gosh darn, you betcha, wink wink, gag me with a spoon “debate.”
