Chris Young Loses Perfect-o

I just watched, heartbreakingly, as Highland Park High School grad, and San Diego Padres pitcher, Chris Young lost a perfect game with two outs in the bottom of the eighth in Milwaukee.  He looked like he might finish the achievement, but then he gave up a home run to Gabe Kapler.

Let’s see if he can finish the complete game one-hitter, which would be impressive enough accomplishment against a good Brewers team.

UPDATE: Nope, Matt Gamel of the Brewers just got his first Major League hit off Young with one out in the bottom of the ninth. So the best we can hope for now is a two-hitter.

UPDATE UPDATE: OK, that’s it. Chris Young got the first complete game of his career, a two-hitter. Congratulations to him. Now to flip over and see how Clayton Kershaw is going pitching for the Dodgers today.
