It’s a final. The Scots win their home opener in convincing fashion to improve to 2-0 on the season.
After Matt Bonano returned the game’s opening kickoff 89 yards for an HP touchdown, Liberty answered with a 54-yard touchdown run by quarterback Matt Clark to tie the game at 7-7. However, the Scots then scored the next 28 points to put things out of reach for the Redhakws (1-1).
Bryan Dickenson rushed for a touchdown and caught two more for HP, which wraps up non-district play next Friday at home against Coppell (2-0). The Scots will then have a bye week before opening District 10-4A play Thursday, Sept. 25, at Carrollton Newman Smith.
Friday night’s win was the 40th straight in the regular season for HP.
Just in from SMU:
The SMU/Texas Tech game will be aired on Fox Sports Southwest Sept. 13 at 6 p.m.
Not sure why this game’s getting airtime, I’ll be shocked if the Mustangs can put up anything against the Red Raiders, but I’m glad I don’t have to drive to Lubbock to catch the game.
By the by, SMU’s home opener against Texas State is tomorrow at 7 p.m. at Ford Stadium.
I’ll be there, will you?
While sitting in the Austin airport earlier today, I heard a page for “Ryan. Mr. Nolan Ryan.” Could it be? Doesn’t he have his own plane that flies into private airports? Or maybe it was just a joke.
I was at MiCo’s last night for the early bird shift and saw the good Reverend Mark Craig, chief God guy and preacher extraordinaire at Highland Park United Methodist Church and the smokin’ hot Troy Aikman with his cute children. There were also a few hi-fallutin’ real estate types in there. Pretty impressive that MiCocina still delivers good food, good drinks and a great social scene after all these years.
Such a cute Parkie home for sale. It’s obvious that the owner went to a great deal of trouble to make everything look perfect for the photos, that’s why it’s so odd that they couldn’t move the bike for that one little picture. See the slide show.
Today’s Daily Candy offers a very Parkie solution for the drunk capool driving ladies I mentioned in my column today.
The local driving service will bend over backward to get your drunk ass home safe.
And if you’re too hungover to run errands the next day, they’ll drop the kids at school and fetch your dry cleaning.
