So here’s the deal, I can’t take Sarah Palin seriously because she looks too much like Elaine from Seinfeld. Last night I kept waiting for her to break into that thumb dance right there at the convention podium.

I have so many other reasons why I can’t take her seriously. But then, I didn’t take Dan Quayle seriously either, and he became Vice President.
You’re right, Merritt, at least we know who will get the title role in the Lifetime Channel’s production of: “Sarah Palin, Fairy Princess From a Snowy Land.”
What about Tina Fey? That’s who I think of when I see her. Tina Fey is funnier than Elaine.

I can’t take her seriously because she wants to censor books in the library and prohibit victims of rape and incest from receiving abortions. But that Elaine thing is annoying too.

I’m not so big on her choice of names for kids either:
Willow, Piper, Bristol, Track and Trig.
Sounds a bit soap opera-ish.

Last week when she was announced as McCain’s running mate, my wife immediately said she looked like Tina Fey. I can see a hint of Julia Louis-Dreyfus, but she’s and Fey look very similar.

Charles - You missed the DNC talking points memo this morning:
pre-speech: Palin is an inexperienced backwater rube
post-speech: Palin is a veteran pundit and fair game
Merritt - Not surprised at your continued superficiality. Also, seems that “Merritt” would fit nicely in that list of names.
KM - You are a Lefty - deal with it
KM@ September 4th, 2008 at 2:42 pm
Wow Eric. I think free speech and permitting a woman to make a choice in the case of rape or incest are pretty mainstream points of view. Looks like you should move to Alaska where your views are more mainstream. Have fun with the aerial wolf hunts.
Charles Geilich@ September 4th, 2008 at 3:13 pm
The kid names don’t bother me. I think I read somewhere that each of them is tied into an Alaskan theme: “Willow” is for “Willow Bay,” etc.
Eric’s right. I didn’t get my “talking points” this morning. That’s what I get for thinking for myself. It’s a habit I must break.

She is ‘Karen’ from ‘Will and Grace’ all the way..but Karen is nicer! LOL!

She reminds me of the generic librarian on one of the SkinMax late night shows - at least, that’s what I’ve heard….

Another Palin separated-at-birth possibility:
Dr. Melffi from the Sopranos
I keep thinking that the Van Halen song “Hot for Teacher” is going to start playing in the background and Palin will take off the glasses and swing her hair out of a bun…
Charles Geilich@ September 4th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
I’m so glad you broke the ice on that one, BF. At least it’s not just me …
I would say Tina Fey too. Also,I know I hate talking about this because I do believe the kids should be left out of the debates but I would have to agree that the names are out there. But, I’m a sucker for unusual names. They’re orignal.

Merritt did write a column on an important subject in today’s PCP - check it out.
I can’t wait to see the premier of SNL this season; hopefully they can get Tina to make a few guest appearances as Palin. My captcha words are “taketh $303.231″ so do I win some money or something?
Sorry; I was going by the SNL website that night, and guess it hadn’t been updated.

Are vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s rimless eyeglasses the new Hillary Clinton pantsuit?
Veep candidate’s rimless glasses are suddenly in high demand.
The glasses, created by Japanese designer Kazuo Kawasaki, are becoming a bipartisan must-have fashion accessory.
The company that manufacturers Palin’s eyeglasses says its phones have been ringing off the hook.
“We began hearing from our authorized dealers and they wanted to stock multiple pairs of the exact same frame and style and color that she had,” said Amy Hahn, the vice president of Italee Optics, Inc.

Charles Geilich - going with your logic of not qualified, then you definitely will not be voting for Obama then since he has less experience and qualifications than Governor Palin has, right?

Tina Fey nailed that impersonation on SNL this past weekend. Obviously, she got the look down. But, here voice impersonation was spot on. Very funny.

Peggy Hill comes to my mind.
Hey lefties, especially you, Chuck, ease upon Palin. Would you take her more seriously if she looked like Janet Reno or Madeline Albright?
Nope. I don’t take her seriously because she’s not qualified, and that’s not her fault, it’s McCain’s fault for picking her.
But that doesn’t mean she may not be elected.
I also thought she looked like Tina Fey. But her youngest daughter is such a cutie!
I don’t even consider myself a “leftie,” but she is so far to the right that I guess most normal people can only be “lefties”

Just checked the SNL schedule & Tina Fey is hosting the season premier this Saturday night. Amy Poehler could make a great Cindy McCain!
Charles,
Is someone jealous because their VP candidate has bad hair plugs??
captcha: Biden hairclub for men
Oh, come on, WCM. Next thing you’ll tell me is that Biden’s teeth aren’t that naturally dazzling. Leave some mystery.
Captcha words: Attorney wars
For Palin trivia collectors, the bumper sticker on her dad’s old pick-up truck reads: “Vegetarian: an old Indian word for bad hunter.”
She named her son Track because she loves track. I guess I can’t really fault her there. I wanted my kid to be mellow and got pretty close, with Milo.
Not true- Tina Fey is not hosting the season premiere this Saturday night. Michael Phelps is.
