You be the judge on the new word emerging in the Park Cities. A longtime Parkie sends this:
Thought of you as I heard this new terminology for the “Bubble.” Used in conversation by the bartender at a local hot spot in THE zip code - “Yes, most of our patrons don’t get far from the ”Areola“
I can see it working for Hooters patrons but doesn’t seem to fit as a metaphor for the Park Cities affinity for staying close to home.
As for the picture it brings to mind - eew!
Not only is it not clever, it’s not an attractive word or one that is particularly fun to say (unless your a 12-year-old boy).
Bubble works because it’s a fun word. The other one? Not so much.
Would that make the Park Cities the breast place to live?
That bartender sounds like a boob!
Freudian slip, maybe? I have questions. In what bar did this occur? Was the bartender male? Was the patron female? Was her blouse particularly low cut? You see where I’m going with this.
The Booble?
Is that a new plant? If so must have it for my yard. ha-ha just kidding!
The Booble! Appropriate in so many ways, A.B.
Was he saying area and it morphed into aerola? Surely this is not a new trend. But if our ‘hood’s going to be linked with the bosom, let’s just cut to the chase and call it the womb.
Leigh, a better term. It makes me think of all of the adults who live here off of their parents’ names and/or money.
Um-hum. That’s right.
Ah the nuturing bosom of the Park Cities! Lifegiver and Happy Place. Booble has my vote, Merit.
