I really like Macie Jepson! I’m going to miss her (and her hairstyles).

This is a sad state of affairs for the media business. Our friends and the Dallas Morning News, WFAA and other media outlets are hurting. I’m so sorry to hear about Macie. As a PR professional, I’ve worked with her several times and she is a dear. I have friends at the DMN who are sweating right now, not knowing what the future holds for them - and they’re great reporters. Maybe the Park Cities People is hiring???

Macie is such a fresh-faced breath of fresh air. I wonder if WFAA is TRYING to lose ratings. I know Macie and she is the same to your face as she is when you are not there. Maybe she has too much class for the cut-throat business of small town TV. I’m sad about her not being there and will switch to another station from now on.
Well, that just sucks. Now, there is no real reason for me to ever watch the news on Channel 8, except maybe occasionally on the weekends for Shelly Slater.
What a bunch of jerks over at WFAA.
Hopefully, Macie will pop up again and grace another D/FW news station.

I just could not believe it when I heard about Macie. I agree with Brad….. this just SUCKS!!! Macie has such an endearing way about her and she connects so well to us listeners. I don’t get much of a chance to watch the later news shows, so I was attached to Macie at 5:00. I will miss her so much and for the record my channel is getting changed to one of the other stations. And I hope before long I will see her on the competitors. She will be someone else’s gain, Channel 8 you are the loser in this situation!!!
Best Wishes Macie, if you see this.

I think this is very sad. How is it that Cynthia Izaguirra (?) who has been with WFAA for LESS than one year’s time at and is the “low man on the totem pole” with less time and/or experience than Macie Jepson, has kept her job and Macie has been let go? It stands to reason that Macie has been with WFAA for over eight years, has more seniority and is so lovely to watch, would be in a position to keep her job. I stopped watching Channel 8 in the mornings when Cynthia was brought in to replace Jackie who had to leave because of family issues….why didn’t they put Macie in Jackie’s place to start with? And by the way……where is Alexa Konomos? It just goes to show you that EVERYONE is expendable in the corporate world.

Seriously, how does Dale Hansen still have a job? I cringe when I hear his moronic rants about our local teams. He always tells the viewers, ‘See, I told you so’ after something happens, yet I’ve never once heard him admit when he’s wrong. I know he makes a killing…seems like an obvious job cut to me when you factor in how many people loathe him.

All the good stuff has been said in the above blogs about Macie. She is a great news person, and I switched because of her great news delivery. I am so disappointed and will serf to find another news broadcast that appeals. Channel 8 is not on my list.

Why not Dale? Cutting him out could save quite a few jobs and I wouldn’t have to switch to Babe at Channel 11 for sports.

I thought Macie was just on vacation - very sad. I really liked her. Her seniority was the reason she was let go. They can replace her with 2 cheaper employees. Dale Hansen is loathesome, but his controversial style is what brings in the ratings. Quality journalism talent has gone out the window much like customer service has. Sad day.

I also thought that Macie was just on vacation. What the hell, I am tired of corporarate America thinking that if they cut lower employees they will save when the reality is ALL the FAT is at the TOP!!! Leave the talent alone!! I will miss you Macie and hope to see you on another network soon!!!

Macie was their loss, she IS a class act, a lot more than can be said for a few more at WFAA…
