I just got back from an afternoon chat with District 13 Councilman Mitchell Rasansky. The topic of discussion was his long awaited budget amendment proposal. He’s well known for his penny-pinching budget suggestions.
Among the various proposals is one that would require dancers, and all other employees of sexually oriented businesses, to pay a $100 annual fee for a permit and go through an outstanding warrant search and health check for sexually transmitted diseases.
Rasansky said even if it doesn’t raise the $200,000 he projects it will, it should still be on the books. Jump for the money quote. (more…)
Last week we learned from Tierney about a new fitness club coming to Highland Park and Preston Hollow in August and September.
For those of you that didn’t follow the link to Equinox’s Web site, well you missed out on an eyebrow-raising video. It seems to imply that there is more to these clubs than just yoga.
As the screenshot from the home page shows, the guy in the golden trunks is doing a move called “The Bridge,” I think. Since when did yoga classes take place in the middle of a Victorian style brothel? If women aren’t eating off your stomach by the end of the class, do you get your money back??
Our very own Charles Geilich has initially agreed to attend a Pole’lates class and be video taped while learning the finer points of this new form of exercise. Listed in the following comments section are the “legal” terms of the agreement. Charles’ dance moves will then be posted on our Web site in order to raise money for a local charity.
Whadooya think? Good idea/Bad idea. Give us your two cents in the comments section and start saving up those dollars for Charles.
This week’s print product includes a write-up about the Suzette Elwonger website matter.
I would like to note that
That is all.
