Famous faces will once again hit the runways of Dallas for NorthPark’s Fashion at the Park, Oct. 10-16.
Among them, Italian designer Roberto Cavalli, who said that Dallas women “represent the perfect client, and it’s always a pleasure to meet with them.”
That’s quite a compliment.
And yes, the photo is Cavalli with the Spice Girls. Got to love Posh.
Texas Rangers slugger Josh Hamilton said he once dreamed of being in Yankee Stadium and participating in the Home Run Derby, an annual prelude to the All-Star Game.
Last night, Hamilton had the chance to make that dream come true. He didn’t win the contest. It didn’t matter.
Hamilton was still the highlight of the night. He continued his tale of redemption by smashing a record 28 home runs in the first round. With 71-year-old Clay Council, who used to throw batting practice to Hamilton in North Carolina.
At one point, Hamilton, a former drug and alcohol addict, connected on 13 straight homers. He ultimately lost to Minnesota’s Justin Morneau in the finals, but not before he totalled 35 homers and had even New York Yankees fans chanting his name.
Can’t wait to see what he does for an encore in tonight’s All-Star Game. He will be starting in center field.
Today is day 3 at Camp Longhorn, what’s on the sched? Funtastics:
Campers can look forward to Shaving Cream Fights, slides at the Waterpark, the Trolley (a pulley system that begins at the top tower and ends in the lake), and the Underwater House.
I’m waiting on letters from a Zebra and a Gopher (cabin names) but I won’t hold my breath. They’ve got shaving cream to be fighting with and other important stuff. And truly, if the first 5 minutes of camp was this much fun I shouldn’t hear from them until pick up day on August 2. In this photo my daughter sees a fav counselor just after arrival.
I grew up on a farm in Oklahoma. I was taught to keep one eye on the sky and one eye on bugs. My dad knows more about weeds, grains, and fertilizers than I will ever understand. But, could this possibly be the future? If so, what would that do to the American farmer, furthermore, what would that do to Americans?
Rumor has it that one of the Starbucks to be closed will be the one in Old Town Village. Much to Merritt’s dismay, that was my favorite, and most-used Starbucks.
You wanna take a look at what your DARE officer has been up to? Yikes!
Love,
Merritt
UPDATE: UPPD Chief Gary Adams said, “I am aware of it and dealing with it at this time.”
