I’d rather not name names and hurt feelings, but is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that the employees at many “health-food” grocery stores and restaurants look so … unhealthy?
After a little more than a month in the Majors, ex-Scot Clayton Kershaw is headed back to Double-A Jacksonville.
Kershaw was optioned to make room for the return of Hiroki Kuroda, who is coming off the disabled list. It sounds like it won’t be too long before he’s back, but the 20-year-old lefty is clearly disappointed.
He pitched pretty well with the Dodgers, although he didn’t have a win to show for it.
So, word on the street is that the nearly two-acre site on St. Johns Drive that’s been listed for $15 million for more than a year finally sold. (more…)
A couple Overheardians have pointed me to a sort-of apology for the Dallas Morning News‘ coverage of tolling on Mockingbird Lane.
One of my dear friends just told me about car window bashing incident near Starbucks and Horchow Finale at Mockingbird and 75. Her friend left her purse in a locked car one morning last week to grab a tea at Starbucks - like so many of us do. When she returned less than 5 minutes later, her passenger side window was smashed and her purse was gone. The frustrating part of the crime was that a police car was patrolling the lot while the theft occurred. The victim learned this is not an uncommon crime. Thieves watch women to see if they carry their handbags with them or not. When the purseless ladies exit their vehicles, the thieves make their move.
Ladies, be alert - even for a 5 minute coffee run or it might cost you more than a cup of joe.
