What’s the turn-down service like at a hotel near the Toot ‘n Totem?

Bethany, your question about the turn-down service reminds me of an incident I encountered at a hotel in Galveston. About 9:00 p.m. or so, there was a pounding at the door like you’d hear just before the police come in, followed by a bellowed voice calling: “Turn down service! That’s where I pull your sheets back and put a chocolate on your pillow!” And this was repeated up and down the hall.
Was your hotel like that, Merritt?

I grew up in Amarillo and there are Toot N Totums everywhere. What we really called them were fart N fetchums, classy huh? I am sure you can guess why I live in Uptown now and avoid any suburbs
While Merritt was enjoying west Texas heaven, we had the privilege of keeping her soon-to-be-5-year-old. He told us his food was so hot that it made his ears water!

OMG, all the replies on this thread are cracking me UP!!!!!! Although we didn’t have Toot N Totums growing up in Houston, we did have U-Tote-Ems. Every boy I knew over the age of 10 had to call them…wait for it!…U-Scrote-Ems. Until the unhappy moment when one friend hollered it out accidentally to his mom as we biked off to buy pork rinds and Dr. Pepper. The nickname didn’t really work for her.
I’m in Ohio in collegeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I went to Primacare and the doc-in-the-box told me I had bronchitis and a severe sinus infection? That’s pretty bad, isn’t it?
Hey MC - do you find college any more exciting than your life in the Bubble? Or is it a big yawnfest, too?
I looked for patio furniture all weekend and couldn’t find anything I liked enough to buy, so that’s about as much fun as you had.
