So the guy that smashed the crap out of my car yesterday is sticking to his story with the insurance company. His version is that we were both at fault when he backed into the side of my car rendering the front and back passenger doors useless. Can this really be my fault? I think not.
You didn’t mention your Batmobile wheels that move your car sideways.
When will people just stand up and “DO THE RIGHT THING?” Let’s just start calling out people like this, regardless of their place in society. We need to start accepting responsibility for our own actions. This guy is clearly at fault.
Your ace in the hole is that you were not still backing up as well - you were in the roadway proceeding forward.
If it were me, I’d call him out by name on the blog
Isn’t there something about the person who backs into the other is at fault? What a loser.
If this guy really wants to stick to his “Both of us were backing out” story, then it would have to be the back end of your car, not the side, that was damaged. What a jerk. Go get him Merritt!
Ugh…this is a mess. At least you didn’t have someone hit you in a parking lot and then just leave without leaving a note, as has happened to me three times (I’m pretty sure my insurance company doesn’t believe me anymore).
His insurance is coming to “take a look and determine liability” at 11:00. Developing.
I was hit by someone who ran a red light. My light had been green for several seconds before I entered the intersection. I ended up T boning her car. She sped off, but the guy behind me went after her. My car was totaled. Her insurance said it was my fault. My insurance company when to arbitration with her company. I won. Good luck… don’t give up.
Team Merritt!
Someone hit me a few weeks ago and totaled my car. Luckily, he was clearly at fault so now I have a new car — a new car PAYMENT too, but still
