Art Lambert Puts Your Dad to Shame

Sent from the Park Cities Y today:

The Park Cities YMCA is pleased to announce Art Lambert as the 2008 YMCA Father of the Year recipient. Art has been actively involved in the Park Cities YMCA since 1999, when he began coaching soccer for his daughters. During Art’s 18 different coaching seasons he has had the opportunity to not only impact his own children, but also the children of so many others in the community. He continues to teach the importance of respect, compassion and sportsmanship along with the skills of the sport, and models these characteristics in his own interactions.

Art’s love for his children and others has also translated into eight consecutive years serving as Chief for his children’s Adventure Guides and Adventure Princess Circles. This incredible program truly focuses on taking time out for dad to be with the kids and has built a tremendous bond with other father’s in his circle. Art believes strongly in the good things the YMCA does for families, and shows his support by assisting with the Annual Campaign to raise money so others can benefit from the YMCA.

Outside of the YMCA, Art has been very involved with Highland Park United Methodist Church and also with his children’s schools. In celebration of Father’s Day and this busy father who gives so much to the community, Art was recognized during a family event on Tuesday, June 10th, 2008. A special thanks to Art Lambert for all he does and to his family for so generously sharing him with others.
