SMU Sets Times for ‘08 Home FB Games

SMU has announced kickoff times for this year’s six home games. The first four on Sept. 6 and 20, and Oct. 11, and 18 will start at 7 p.m. The games on Nov. 8 [Homecoming] and 29 will start at 2 p.m.

I don’t know how Parkies feel about this, but I’ve been saying for years that they need to move more of the games to the early evening. As a recent SMU graduate, I know how hard it is to wake up early Saturday morning to start tailgating.

With the later kickoff times, more students will fill the stands, and hopefully, more people from the at large community will be interested in taking in a game or two. It also frees up time during the day to catch other games on TV during the day.
