Anyone know what’s going on at the 7-Eleven on Knox? Driving by this morning, I saw warning tape all around it and the windows were boarded shut. I didn’t notice that yesterday (but then again, it was a busy Monday and maybe I was out of it).
I hope it’s not closing. That’s my normal haunt for a Monday morning Diet Mountain Dew or a Thursday morning package of crackers. I count on it to be there.
No idea what’s happ’nen at the 7-11 but as a mother, I am concerned about your breakfast choices.
Uh Oh! I’ll bet money it’s going to turn into another corner bank. Come to think of it, I don’t think there is any other bank on that stretch. KA CHING!
According to nice people at Toulouse across the street, it’s going to be a bank.
Gadfly–I thought the exact same thing. I’m not OK with that.
Kersten–It’s healthy. Promise.
No!!! That is so disappointing. We don’t need any more banks. Now I have to re-route my slurpee trips to Fitzhugh.
Diet Mountain Dew is healthy as long as you pour it into a glass or drink it from a bottle, because then you can see through it, and anything you can see through is healthy.
It’s only when it’s in a can that it’s unhealthy, because you can’t see through it.
Called the HP 50, they are depressed also and don’t know what’s going on. Also called a friend at Southland Corp. we’ll know today!!?
I’m still really mad that they closed the Lovers and Armstrong location. It was the closest place to get milk and our kids in the part of town could walk there.
Not sure what could be going up there - probably a bank.
Now where are you supposed to go after walking/running/biking the Katy Trail? Fanning myself with dollars from the bank isn’t going to help as much as Slurpee.
What about all those poor souls who bought wine there to take over to Momo’s??
Hmmm…. I guess that says something when you are going to the 7-11 to buy wine for your romantic dinner at Momo’s.
There is always Best Cellars. Well, then again, not Best Cellars but some wine store.
I love my friends at that 7-11! I am so sad!!
The next fun game should be let’s guess what all these bank buildings will turn into when they all close in the next 20 months - or less. Mark my words.
Maybe they’re closing all the ones that don’t sell gasoline. If so, the one across from SMU on Hillcrest could be next.
I think Momo’s should become a 7-11. I’m sure the food would be an improvement.
The DMN reports that a developer bought the site and can build as many as 9 stories and 60k square feet of office/retail. As expected, a bank could occupy the ground floor.
Frontburner just posted an item on this…as usual - no love for Overheard!
