Park Cities Without Power?

Merritt manages to send in a blog post, despite the difficulties:

The power is out at my house and for blocks around. My nanny reports that Snider Plaza is without power too. If I get home and there’s poor ice formation for evening beverages and Kuby’s is closed …t his could be bad. But remember Michael is fine. He’s at the waterfront Ritz in Doha.

UPDATE: Gary Krabill, who owns Flavors From Afar in Snider Plaza, said the power went out just before noon. It came back on at 12:30 p.m. He thinks it was just his block - the 6700 block.

UPDATE: Hey, Gary, seeing as you have power there at Flavors From Afar, Merritt wants to know if she can sleep in your store. Text her.

SMU’s DeMyron Martin, Thomas Morstead, Emmanuel Sanders and Andrew Galloway will read stories and sign autographs for the children in attendance.

Sorry for the late notice, if anyone wanted to attend, but I just received this release a few minutes ago myself.

Today in the Park Cities…

The University Park City Council is meeting with city staff this afternoon to discuss ways to make the city’s operations more “green.” I’m sure our loyal Overheardians will have plenty of suggestions for them.

Breakfast Ruined Forever

Anyone know what’s going on at the 7-Eleven on Knox? Driving by this morning, I saw warning tape all around it and the windows were boarded shut. I didn’t notice that yesterday (but then again, it was a busy Monday and maybe I was out of it).

I hope it’s not closing. That’s my normal haunt for a Monday morning Diet Mountain Dew or a Thursday morning package of crackers. I count on it to be there.
