Big, Big News Coming — Maybe

There’s nothing quite like the thrill of being in a newsroom when a major story breaks. When we’ve been told information that we know the public is going to be interested in hearing, and we’re scrambling last-minute to adjust our previously best-laid plans. It’s what makes working for a newspaper a lot of fun.

Am I implying that we’re sitting on a piece of information like that at this very moment?

    Dallas voted to charge Parkies to leave the Park Cities via Mockingbird? You know, to attend the DALLAS Opera, the DALLAS Symphony, go to the DALLAS Museum of Art, or see the DALLAS Stars or even the DALLAS Cowboys??

    I’m not kidding myself, rd. I used to do major fundraising and know many of those arts supporters personally. Doesn’t mean I have to like the idea of tolling Mockingbird.

    Anne, if you have read this blog in the last week, you would know that the DMN and Channel 5 stories were not accurate.

    The people here are mostly nice, caring folks who do not deserve the vitriol spewed forth from the likes of you.

    I don’t hear you or anyone else criticizing residents of the suburbs for using Dallas streets or visiting cultural institutions.

    And if you don’t like us, pretend like we don’t exist. It can’t be that hard to do.
