Calling All Seamstresses

6149_elderly_seamstress_woman_sewing_a_dress.jpgI am on a search for the perfect seamstress who will alter my wedding dress without charging an arm and a leg, and who will give me at least another month to lose those six extra pounds.

Any debutantes, socialites, or brides have any advice of a great seamstress in the area?

Go to downtown Neimans to the wedding boutique. They have a fabulous lady there that did my deb dress, which had a lot of alterations (I’m only 5′0). Or you can go to Barney’s and ask for Audrey, who is great as well. Or you could find that guy here that does all of the dresses for the Tyler Rose festival, I forgot his name though. I’m not sure of any of the prices anymore, sorry! Good luck!!

Daisy at Unique Tailor at Greenville and Mockingbird. (214) 824-5678‎. She is really good, really cheap, and can usually finish stuff if you are in a time crunch without charging an arm, a leg, or a first born.

Daisy is the best! Unique Tailor is also the home of the $4.99 jean hems. They keep the original stitching at the bottom and everything. Very quick turnaround.

J’s Tailor right by panera across from Northpark, I have had bridesmaid dresses done, vera wang, and my fiance has had a gucci suit, they don’t take forever and can probably do it closer to your date that you need it by - 214.373.3456

I would second Neimans. Anna’s Alterations at Northwest Highway is very good for that kind of work….

Thanks for the advice! I’ve actually called a few of the places.
Thanks, Merritt, I especially love her square, cushion butt.
