Would someone please let me in on the secret of The Cheesecake Factory? After all this time, the place still has lines out the door and a long, long waiting list. Why? The byzantine menu is okay, but it doesn’t strike me as anything special. I give them credit for honesty in naming, though, as it does appear to be a “factory.”
Sorry if I’m stepping on toes, I seem to be extra-opinionated today. Maybe I’m feeling frisky because school’s out.
Me, too. I do not get The Cheesecake Factory. I do not understand the lemming-like attraction to the place. When one opens, its as if a miracle from heaven happened.
A) Cheesecake is not meant to be made in a factory. Factory cheesecake = not good cheesecake. Cheesecake made lovingly by an artisan = good. Cheesecake Factory = Bad Name
B) I just don’t like chain restaurants to begin with, unless its maybe La Madeleine. Yes, I’m a snob.
No one gets it, Charles. But this is interesting: http://sidedish.dmagazine.com/.....ate-check/
Why would a restaurant serve an “individual” portion with two entire chicken breasts, anyway?
Um, because they usually travel in pairs? Okay, I apologize profusely, but it was so teed up there for me.
But, seriously, Kristiana, the portions are gargantuan.
You can eat dinner at The Mansion for the same price as dinner at Cheesecake factory. Yes, you can. And The Mansion tastes a whole lot better.
Last time I ate at The Mansion there was a lime green caterpillar in my friend’s salad~ the chef’s retort they’re field green what do you expect….hmmmmmm…..
But can you imagine what the Cheesecake Factory would charge for that?
I’m not a huge fan of Cheesecake Factory either, but I find that I eat there at least once a month. It’s close, and they have 1 or 2 good sandwiches on the menu. As for dinner with my friends and family, never, but just my wife and I grabbing a quick lunch on the weekend, sure.
I eat at the Oklahoma City location on business - there’s nothing else around - and am pleasantly surprised by the delicious Miso Salmon. So much so that I shared it with my wife - on vacation in southern California. She loved it too. But, with so many restaurants here in Dallas, I most likely won’t venture to NorthPark for dinner.
