Candy Evans broke it, but I saw it first. I spent a few minutes yesterday in Avery Johnson’s condo at the Ritz. It was really gorgeous. I loved the colors and pieces that were put together in the rooms. There were several padded walls, lots of shades of greens, and apparently everything, including the electronics, will be sold with the condo. The Johnsons spent a lot of time picking out everything and making their place perfect, just to put it on the market.
Realtor Jamie Adams said he was sad to see Avery go. He said he was a great guy. Adams, who has 40 percent of his work come from athletes, said he sees a lot of sad stories in sports. He once had a young player who bought his first home and arranged for his non-English speaking girlfriend to attend TCU and the day he was moving in, he got the call telling him he had been traded. Talk about a tough day.
So, Avery was the interior designer. The place looks cheap. It won’t sell for more than $2 million.
I actually liked it. I don’t feel the photos are that great. In fact, I saw the place first, and then I saw the photos and was really surprised because that is not how I remembered it. And no, Avery was not the interior designer.
