Go Hyer!

I attended the first showing of the Hyer Fourth Grade Parents Skit this morning, in which my lovely and talented wife performed, and, man, those Hyer moms looked fantastic.  So much care was taken with the costumes and accessories, the well-rehearsed acts, all img_0202.JPGthe coordination that was worked out before any mom showed up at the school this morning.

Oh, and the show on stage was really good, too.   Ba da boom.

This year they changed the name from “Fourth Grade Moms Skit” to “Fourth Grade Parents Skit.” Charles, since you watched I suppose that means you didn’t perform. Were there any dads in the production?

Indeed there were, Jen, and they were great. Especially the kilted dancers, who may have stolen the show.

As for me, it looks like I’m on tap in three years when my daughter will be in fourth grade.

My first year living in UP and my son was a forth grader. I could not believe the time and effort these moms put into this skit. I remember C. Kerr had one of the leads. What a great tradition. Hyer moms rock!

So, Merritt, when is the UP Elementary skit?

We had lots of super dads. Frankly, our handlers (the hardworking moms who gave us our direction on the skit) did a super job. Everyone had a lot of fun. The third and last will be in 4th grade in 4 years. I’d definitely do it again. I was a great way to meet moms and dads who have kids that weren’t necessarily in your kids classes over the years. Sincerly, Payton!
