I realize that Parkies love their fancy dogs but is it necessary to take them into restaurants and grocery stores? I’m noticing it more each day and I just want to know the rule beacuse if it’s OK, I’m letting my daughter take her gerbil to Kuby’s.

What places allow dogs? I didn’t think they were allowed in restaurants at all. I don’t really have a problem with it if it’s outside on a patio.

I would be worried about them turning the pets into sausage.
OK, I’ll have a triple order of kartoffelnsalat, bitte.

I’d hate to see her pet made into gerbilwurst. It’s OK to bring the rodent in, just keep it leashed. BTW, Merritt…you’ve been bringing up a lot of “rules” of late (tennis skirty things, pets in restaurants, looking sassy by carpool time). What’s up with that?? I want to see the “rule” book that you’re referring to.

Write a book about all the rules! Like the love book, “The Rules”… only more successful and true. Think about the possibilities.

I am waiting for the cellphone patrol cops to issue tickets to all of the moms, oops, parents who bring their dogs onto the school grounds. Most weeks in the HPISD newsletter that is emailed there is a note about not bringing your dog to school. I guess that rule is just for us lowlifes.

Nothing cries out “high maintenance” more than a woman with a small dog, particularly if she’s carrying it, and especially if the dog is wearing some sort of hand-knitted clothing.

Cafe Pacific accepts dogs!!! His owner brought him in while he had lunch. Can’t remember if he was a German Shepherd or a Golden, but the owner put a blind helper dog outfit on him and they waltzed in. the owner was NOT handicapped or blind. Weird!

Ha! I thought the dog thing was strictly because I live in the OC. Glad to see all the sensible folks in Dallas are trotting their pets into business establishments as well.

Gmom, your comment sounds like a great Seinfeld plot. It’s something George would have done.

The guy with the service dog most likly was training him instead of just trying to take his dog to lunch.
