Since tennis seems to be (loosely) in the news on today’s blog, we bring you this from Lakeway, where tennis skirts are the norm at any time of the day.
The Scots’ girls doubles team of Natalie Leitch and Abby Stainback won their state semifinal late yesterday, and are playing for the UIL championship as you read this. Details coming later, but as we hoped for in a blog post last week, Leitch and Stainback are playing Alexandra Adams and Samantha Adams of New Braunfels in the final. It was New Braunfes that ended HP’s 111-match win streak in team tennis last fall, so a little HP payback might be in order, if not for the fall, than for this - the Adams sisters beat HP’s other girls doubles team, Kellye McDade and Kally Alkire, in the semifinals.
In boys’ doubles, Rob Oberman and Franklin Davis advanced to the final and are also playing right now.
The mixed doubles team of Ryan Collins and Taylor Schreimann lost in the semifinals.
But when and where do they wear the skirt? Really Scott.
I was just about to ask the same thing- were the girls wearing tennis skirts?
