Where Should the Bushes Live?

The rumors abound about where President George W. Bush and his wife Laura will settle after they leave the White House next year. Laura said last month they’re headed back to Dallas, but where exactly?

People Newspapers undertook a special project to allow each of the neighborhoods we serve to make the case for why a former president might want to call their area home. You can read the debate between the Park Cities and Preston Hollow here.

Other neighborhoods making the case are Lake Highlands, Lakewood, Oak Cliff, and West Plano.

Secrets secrets are no fun, unless you’re a part of one!

    Hope it isn’t here.

Oak Cliff is perfect. I think they will have an apartment in the LIBRARY and really live at the Ranch. Any bets?

I have heard from a decent source that W will be moving into the brand new house (that they have been in no hurry to complete) right across the street from the old Cheney residence on Euclid in HP.

  • AMOSS

that is correct. the bushes will be moving into a new home just finishing construction on Euclid (across from Cheney’s old place and the HP police/fire department).

Laura’s been looking, and aren’t happy w/the prices they are seeing:

The First Lady was in Dallas last month for some discreet househunting, and her report back wasn’t comforting about what it will cost to keep a former president in semi-retired style.

“The housing slump hasn’t reached Dallas yet,” he’s been ruefully reporting to sympathetic associates.
