Monitoring the Scene

In the Park Cities today:

  1. Clearly the “most popular posts” list to the right isn’t fully operational or Mowing in the Rain would be showing up towards the top.
  2. The super mod fountain at Lovers and Hillcrest is flowing. Anyone know the cost to put that sucker in or maintain it?
  3. Big storms with three inch hail? I believe it because KRLD said it’s true but the sun is shining out my window.

It’s most popular for the month and Charles has the bad luck to have made such a provocative post on the last day of the month.

$600,000 for both parks at Lovers and Hillcrest. I heard a term for the blocks randomly placed in the parks - tombstones. I think the parks are where they are going to bury all of the former mayors when they die.

I know Mrs. Hitzelberger, I am friendly with her granddaughter. I’ll have to ask her if she knows…

Can’t believe none of you “star reporters” have mentioned the fact that the HPISD is holding a Teacher Fair, rather held one. They are looking for ninety (90) teachers for next year. Wow - usually leave cause they can’t handle the parents, pay is bad also. Did you all not know this?

I thought they were hiring 90 teachers for the new school that we get when the bond passes. I just wish they would stop worrying about being at the top of the pay scale for new teachers and worry about being at the top for the teachers with 10, 15, 20 years of experience.
