Quick Kiss in Highland Park

rf5232531.jpg

This random guy is advertising for a person willing to “kiss for a minute or two and then go on our separate ways.” This is odd on many levels but good for someone seeking a thrill without going all the way? Actually it’s twisted, I was just trying to look at it in a positive light.

4 of 162 are Cuter Than This Overheardian

This just in from a well dressed Overheardian.

I’m on a round trip to [location]. Bored, I have been playing the “Do you pass?” test. I’m looking for anyone who is cuter than me. Not in the gene-way…because there was a real beauty on my flight down but she was wearing bedazzled, acid-washed jeans. Instead, I’m looking for people dressed as well as me or better than me.

Out of 79 people today, I saw one older woman who was almost there. No one passed.

On the way home, out of 64 people (I’m counting), there’s a guy with Gucci loafers and good khaki’s. - he’s at par.

At my office in [location]? 3 out of 19 people were at my level. That’s 4 out of 162 that are on par.

Amazing. But, when I’m at the UP pool this summer. I’m in the lower 20th percentile. There’s something to be said about traveling outside “the wall.”

Most Glamorous Park Cities Realtor

The comment on this post made me think, we need to have Overheardians send us the name of their favorite super-glam realtor. You know, show how chic they are. Every area agent I see is perfection in a pricey black sedan. They always have perfect lipstick coverage too. Send me your vote.

Lydia, Jeff, who do you think?

Jeff Duffey, Control Yourself

You’re always creating a stir. Take a lesson from me…keep it up. It gets way more fun if you can handle the hate mail.

Monitoring the Scene

In the Park Cities today:

  1. Clearly the “most popular posts” list to the right isn’t fully operational or Mowing in the Rain would be showing up towards the top.
  2. The super mod fountain at Lovers and Hillcrest is flowing. Anyone know the cost to put that sucker in or maintain it?
  3. Big storms with three inch hail? I believe it because KRLD said it’s true but the sun is shining out my window.

The Next Big Thing

Now that Fashion in the Park is over (I also attended Intermix, JB, loved it and loved the after party cotton candy) we should look forward to the Crescent Spring Celebration. This event will be an awesome Girl’s Night Out. It’s April 17 in the Crescent Courtyard in Uptown. Tickets are $75 and proceeds go to Big Thought, a not-for-profit group for arts in education. This is a cool event. Free food and drinks from the area’s best restaurants, great silent auction items, mini spa experiences from The Spa at The Crescent (just ranked #1 hotel spa in the US in April’s Conde Nast Traveler), a fashion show by Stanley Korshak and cooking demonstrations by hot chefs.

Fashion Fun

Fashion at the Park attracted all ages of Dallasites ranging from the young teen to the young-at-heart. DJ Lucy Wrubel got her groove on while spinning tunes in the tent referred to by attendees as the “party tent”, “holding tank” and “reception area”.   On Day 3, Friday night, Lucy was still going strong (dancing atop her perch in the center of the tent) when I attended CH Carolina Herrera and Intermix.

Todd Fiscus’ event guru, Josh Madans, was overheard telling guests Todd Events debuted their new white couches in the tent reception area.  Hopefully the new couches survived the wear and tear of the non-stop parties and shows.

Think spring and enjoy some bright colors on this dreary day.intermix 1 intermix 2intermix 3

Mowing in the Rain

Maybe this was just an excuse from my childhood to get out of mowing the yard, but does anyone else remember the rule that you couldn’t (or shouldn’t) mow when it’s raining?  I notice PC landscapers (who used to be called lawnmowers) cutting grass right through the showers.
