Blogging From the Rez

Since my son woke up at 2:30 in the morning with the latest Parkie illness, a high fever and chills, and the guilt of leaving him with the nanny would be too intense, I’m blogging straight from the sick zone today. I’ve heard this is going around. Anyone? How long does it last? Will he bust out vomiting any second? Will everyone in my house have it by Friday? What am I up against here? Preparation is key.

My doctor calls it GOK=god only knows but he says at least i dont have GDEK=God doesnt even know-doctor humor, ha ha.
If he has what a friend’s daughter has, it is a viral infection, yes he’s contagious. Get him to the doctor pronto.
If he has the flu, settle in for a week of it. I took Robitussin PM for cold and flu symptoms, drank gallons of OJ and gatorade and was miserable for about a week. Hope he gets well soon.

Ditto. No, everyone in your house will not have it by Friday. They will all get it one by one - for the next few weeks. Settle in , get a good book and stock up on chicken soup!

Tamiflu might reduce the severity of the symptoms, if it is the flu, but you have to go to the doctor, and soon.

My best advice is to not bring him to visit the grandparents, unless you hold Freudian grudges against them for past wrongs.

Dittos for all the posts but I would add that I have had one of my kids and seen several others that have the flu and strep at the same time. And Miles; my parents have 14 grandkids and great grandkids. They raised the bridge over the moat around their castle 3 weeks ago…and they are not feeding the gators in the moat.

Just don’t make my mistake. This morning, I thought I was taking aspirin when, in fact, I downed two Simply Sleep tablets on my way to the office. They kicked in right around the time a lawyer was explaining his client’s version of the property division in a divorce case.

(And, in an odd coincidence, my Catpha words are “divorced Senator.” Not that the client was a senator).
