Dear Kid Biz, I Didn’t Really Mean It

I received the following e-mail in response to the January 18 Bulletin from the Bubble. Kudos to Kid Biz, they’re really good sports!

Merritt,

You were right on in your “A Step Out of Bounds” article, but as your biggest fan, my daughter Erin said, “How rude; she made it personal,” when you referred to the pricey children’s boutique for the over-indulged kid. Hey, KidBiz is an equal opportunity boutique – we proudly serve all of your designated regions of the Bubble. Not only that, we even have customers from many points north of Northwest Highway , and dare I mention, places like OK City, Little Rock , Shreveport and Wichita Falls !

Not all shoppers over-indulge their kids. You can actually find “needs”, not just “wants” at KidBiz. Not everything in the store is pricey, but just fun, fashion-forward, and cute. And what is wrong with putting something on your kid that makes them look and feel good just because you bought it at 75% off?

Now Merritt we are not overly sensitive people. We did not get upset when you talked about our neighbors’ inflatable Christmas decorations (we live across the street from airplane Santa…). We want you to come in the store and see for yourself. Ask for my wife Janet or me, and let us over-indulge your kids with a gift. We’re very discreet; we won’t tell anyone you came in or even that you have shopped with us before (it’s been way too long).

Sincerely,

Jay Finegold
