Unlimited Texting is a Must

I thought that 300 texts per month should cut it for a 9 and 10 year old. Nope. After one day with modern communictaion devices in their pockets I upgraded to unlimited texting plans. Probably because they have replaced speaking with texting. I got this one from our 9 year old yesterday while he was seated less than 20 feet from me:

Can I have a few Skittles?

Then at dinner last night our 10 year old texted from across the table concerning our 6 year old:

She’s lying.

Texting rules are about to kick in.

Why do 9 and 10 year olds even have cell phones?

  • Carrie

Why did your 10-year-old have a cell phone at the dinner table?

  • gmom

Sorry M, I thought they were numbered in order of importance. d and Carrie, I agree, 9 and 10 year olds have no business having cell phones. What happened to Tag or Hide and Go Seek in the front yard? I swear, you kids, and definately not at the dinner table or any other eating situation!! I can see it now Mi Cocina, all of the adults are on their cell phones and now the children too??

I know, what is the world coming to?
