Inquiries regarding a list of the rules for the new cell phones are slowly hitting the inbox. We’re new at this, what are good cell phone rules for 9 and 10 year olds? I have one: don’t text me if I have to walk past you to pick up my Blackberry, try speaking.
I respect this Overheardian’s desire to get it right:
- When is it appropriate to remove the yellow ribbons related to HPHS football’s state title hopes? Am I a bad fan if take mine down first?
- Our Mad for Plaid sign has been up for two months. Can I take it down or will people think I didn’t support our schools?
- Christmas decorations. Should I take them down now or wait until Jan 2nd or thereabouts? (Don’t want to be a grinch)
- My neighbor still has a “He is Risen” cross in her flower bed area. Shouldn’t that one have come down after Easter?
I thought that 300 texts per month should cut it for a 9 and 10 year old. Nope. After one day with modern communictaion devices in their pockets I upgraded to unlimited texting plans. Probably because they have replaced speaking with texting. I got this one from our 9 year old yesterday while he was seated less than 20 feet from me:
Can I have a few Skittles?
Then at dinner last night our 10 year old texted from across the table concerning our 6 year old:
She’s lying.
Texting rules are about to kick in.
