I’ll have you know that since Christmas morning I have been living with a gerbil, named Maple Syrup. So far, I’m ok with it. I even kind of think Maple is cute.
The digital pet, $20. Each webkinz, $15.50.

What day to you clean the cage, I want to come over and watch. Maybe we can video tape it and put it on YouTube
The cage is not my job. But that was obvious, right?

Sure it’s not, mom.

Hey Merritt,
I am a pro at cleaning cages, but I suspect my standards are not probably up to Merritt’s as far as housecleaning. If you need help, I volunteer. I’ll even bring the junk that goes in the bottom of the cage and the clorox wipes if Merritt will hold the little guy while I dump the ooey stuff. Hey Merritt, gerbils are great because when they escape they usually head for pantries or cabinets with food products. That makes them easier to catch in the middle of the night if you know their destination. Sleep tight.
The other best thing about gerbils as opposed to hamsters is that they have a tail you can gently grab as they race away. Did I mention they are much faster than guinea pigs and chinchillas. Is Maple Syrup keeping you up at night? Has s/he bitten you yet? Next time, I’d be happy to steer you towards an easier pet (as far as care, feeding and friendliness towards hands reaching in during daytime hours).
Looking forward to coffee on the 10th. We can further discuss then. Happy New Year!
Wekinz just aren’t what they used to be. Or are they?
Think you got taken. How much was that digital pet?
Oh, that’s right. Merritt’s kid needs a digital pet because she hates animals. http://www.peoplenewspapers.co.....9683566704
