Here it is, as simply as I can put it (I think):
HP will play in the Class 4A Division II bracket.
If HP wins tonight over West Mesquite, it will be the top seed from District 10-4A. If West Mesquite wins, HP drops to the second seed from 10-4A.
As to HP’s possible opponents in the bi-district round - read on carefully, please.
If McKinney Boyd beats The Colony tonight, AND HP beats West Mesquite, HP will play the loser in tonight’s Lake Dallas-Frisco game.
If McKinney Boyd beats The Colony tonight, AND HP loses to West Mesquite, HP will play the winner in tonight’s Lake Dallas-Frisco game.
If The Colony beats McKinny Boyd tonight, AND HP beats West Mesquite, HP will play Little Elm.
If The Colony beats McKinney Boyd tonight, AND HP loses to West Mesquite, HP will play Lake Dallas.
Why aren’t we in whatever 5A?? We could be playing Odessa Permian, you know some football teams. Little Elm? Lake Dallas?
You will find plenty of quality opponents in the Class 4A bracket, I assure you. And Lake Dallas or Little Elm will be much better than you think - both teams would probably have made the playoffs in HP’s district this season.
State-ranked teams will be waiting for HP if they advance three rounds deep into the playoffs.
