The Breast Cancer 3 Day was this weekend. Basically, people raise money and then walk 3 days (20 miles a day) for the Susan G Komen for the Cure. It finished up yesterday at SMU. I had completely forgot about it until I went to White Rock on Sunday and saw a lot of women and a few men decked out in pink and walking around with multiple water bottles.
The best thing I saw was how encouraging everyone was. Bikers, runners, and walkers that passed those participating would shout at, “Good job. Keep it up. You guys are awesome.” It may sound a little mushy, but it was really moving.
So here’s my shout out to all the walkers, even our own education reporter, Sarah Henry, who I believe is recuperating today after walking 60 miles.
Good job, everyone!
