Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

When ace Preston Hollow reporter Austin Kilgore isn’t busy scooping those guys downtown, he’s winning golf tournaments.

Kilgore and People Newspapers general manager Guy Griffin took first place in the Genesis Women’s Shelter Golf Classic last Thursday.

People Newspapers was a sponsor of the event, which drew a crowd of nearly 150 golfers to the Prestonwood Country Club.

Griffin and Kilgore rounded out their foursome with Athens residents Phillip Gore and Jesse Blair.

“This is the biggest trophy I’ve ever won,” said Kilgore of the 21-inch statue the team members each received. “I’m so glad People Newspapers gave us the opportunity to represent the company and Genesis Women’s Shelter in such an important event.”
