Can you believe I received the following release today, Oct. 2?
On November 23rd, Highland Park Village will host its annual tree lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. in Center Court. Festivities will include an ensemble performance from the Highland Park High School Choir, a holiday marionette show performed by the Dallas Puppet Theater and the introduction of Santa and his live reindeer. In addition, we are pleased to announce that WFAA anchor, Gloria Campos, will emcee this year’s event, which will be the 31st successive holiday celebration to be held in The Village.
The merchants of Highland Park Village, along with members of the Henry S. Miller, Jr. family, will host the ceremony that has become known as the ‘Night of a Million Lights’. Special guests include superintendent of Highland Park schools, Dr. Cathy Bryce and Highland Park mayor, William White. Following the ceremony, 15-minute carriage rides around the town of Highland Park will be offered to view the extraordinary holiday decorations adorning many area homes. Beginning Saturday, November 24th, rides are available for an hourly rate for tours of the grandly decorated neighborhood. Rides may be booked through Monday, December 31st (excluding Christmas day) by calling 214.521.6717 or by visiting www.threejayscarriages.com.
